Why Fairisle?
We’re often asked why we named our company Fairisle, so we thought we'd give a quick explainer.
The company’s named after a knitting pattern, from Fair Isle in the southern part of the Shetlands.
Repeating Pattern
Firstly, the repeating pattern reminds us of the regular, consistent meetings that we have with our clients as we deliver together. Forming the backbone of the work that we do.
Diversity of Thought
The second reason is that the colours are like the different members of a team. Each of you will bring different perspectives, skills and talents to the project, working together to make a beautiful whole.
Beautiful & Practical
Thirdly, on the outside of the jumper you have the pattern, while on the inside the different colours weave and loop to give an additional layer of warmth. As a garment it’s beautiful, decorative and highly practical, giving you multiple benefits from a single piece of work. Which is what our clients find working with us
